Reality Check

Layla is almost 8 months old, and it has taken me this long to finally accept the fact that things aren't going to be the same around my house with 2 kids, as it was with only 1. I had things SO under control with just Annabelle around, and now some days I feel like things are SO OUT of control! My bathrooms used to get cleaned 3 times a week. You probably think I'm just making that up, but I'm not. And our house in CO has 3 bathrooms! Now we only have 1 bathroom, and trust me, it doesn't get cleaned 3 times a week....There isn't always going to be homemade cookies or some type of home baked goodie around the house at any given time. The house never looks cleaned up and organized. In fact the living room and girls' bedroom are downright scary! I keep expecting to see caution tape when I enter one of them because it looks like a natural disaster hit the area. My girls don't have the cutest hair anymore. In fact, Annabelle is getting hers cut tonight. If I have to hear her say one more time "Oowwww, don't hurt me mommy!" when I'm combing it out I think I'll go crazy.

I realize all this doesn't matter. Ok, it matters, but isn't the most important thing. What I really want at the end of the day and the end of my life is for my girls to know I love them and that they are more important than cleaning and cute hair. Because they are!!! Maybe someday I'll be good enough to accomplish it all. But until then, here's to dirty bathrooms and messy bedrooms!

Both my girls cut thier hair last weekend for the same reason. And if you ever have to go to the bathroom at my house.....you are going to have to hold it cuz I know they are not going to come close to what you r used to!!! :)
What I'm saying, is----Welcome to the club!!!!!!

Oh, You have no idea how relieved I feel. I'm not alone!!
I was just thinking all the same stuff today and it got me SOO DOWN. I can't do it all! *sigh* Thanks, Sal. Thanks for letting me get that off my chest.
