Another One Down

Well....my laptop is STILL getting repaired, so I'm blaming that for my lack of posts lately. Good excuse, right!?! Anyway, Annabelle finished up round 14 this past week, a 5 day inpatient chemo, and she's scheduled to start #15 at the end of this week. We have been blessed with NO fevers and counts recovering on time. Two things we just aren't used to experiencing! It has been wonderful and Annabelle has felt so good. Of course, it's all due to the 50% dose reduction of her chemo, but it's been a nice break for us. Although we felt it was the right thing to reduce her dose, there's still no debating that some of the chemo drugs are more effective in higher doses, so starting this next round she will be back up to 75% dose and possibly finish out at 100%. Our nice break from fever and neutropenia visits was great, but we might not finish out treatment that way. Oh well, whatever is best for Annabelle's future!

The best news of all is that we only have 3 more rounds left. 3 more!!! Numbers 15 and 17 are both the short chemos where she only gets infusions on days 1 and 8. That means we only have 1 more, round 16, that is 5 days. Wahoo!!!!! Only one more round of getting up every 2 hours for 5 nights in a row. I can't even express how excited I am about that. It's a small thing in the grand scheme of things, but it is so much easier to deal with matters on a good nights sleep!

I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel and it feels so good. Summer in Montana, trips to the lake, fishing in the evening, eating carrots straight out of the garden, fresh raspberries, Missoula carousel, sleeping in MY bed, living with Josh again...Life is going to be better than ever!
