As some of you may know, I have had he hardest time getting used to the area here in CO. We have a decent view out of our second story windows in our living room but all you see is rock and brush. I just kept thinking, "where are the pine trees"? Well it turns out if you drive WAY up in the mountains to where the road stops and you can't go any further, you will find pine trees. I was ecstatic. It was more like home and what I am used to. A lot of the leafy trees had started turning colors up there too and it was beautiful. Here are some pictures of our little excursion in search of 'real' trees.
Annabelle had a lot of fun roaming around and throwing pine cones, one of her favorite past-times.
See...I knew Colorado was pretty somewhere.
This little outing was just what I needed to lift my spirit. I have a feeling we'll be venturing up there a few more times before it snows.

What a beautiful place! It is always hard to adjust to a different landscape. In Georgia there were so many trees you couldn't see ANYTHING and felt claustrophobic, not quite like the open spaces of Utah. Glad you found somewhere to feel more like home. Nice escape place.
Yea! I am so glad you found some trees! It does look like home! Oh, it makes me miss Montana too! So, you know how I said I was feeling pretty good? Well, I lied.. the last 2 mornings have been quite rough! I can't seem to hold down anything I eat in the morning! But, luckily it only last in the morning and then I feel fine! I do not remember being this sick with Kailey, at least not this early! I really hope it is not a sign of what the next 8 months is going to be like! Oh, and how stinkin' cute are you and Annabelle? You two are so adorable!
I'm so glad you found some prettiness to help make you feel more at home! I miss hills and trees and color sooo much! Thanks for the comments on my new blog. Sally, I'm glad you got to get out into the nature you love. (And, by the way, if you ever have to move to AZ, don't! lol You won't have pine trees, much, but lots of beautiful desert. I like the desert, but you sound like you'd be miserable, especially if you have to drive 2-3 hours for pine trees!) I hope you continue to get used to CO and have fun while you are there. And you are welcome to visit us here in AZ anytime!
